Wild Paths Festival 2019 – Terms & Conditions

 

The Promoter of this prize competition is UMOD, a division of Universal Music Operations Limited of 4 Pancras Square, London, N1C 4AG, which operates the website https://spinnup.com/gb/ in the United Kingdom (“Promoter”).

 

Eligibility

The prize competition is open to all residents in the UK over the age of 1 To be eligible to enter you must have (or create) a Spinnup account and must not subject to an exclusive recording agreement.

The prize competition is not open to employees, agents or directors (or immediate family members of the same) of the Promoter or any of our associated companies or subsidiaries.

In entering the prize competition, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and eligible to claim any prize you may win. The Promoter may require you to provide proof that you are eligible to enter the prize competition.

 

How to enter

The prize competition will run from 12:00 GMT on 16th August 2019 to 59 GMT on 30th August 2019. Entries received after this time will not be valid.

The prize competition is free to enter, and no purchase is necessary.

You must sign up to Spinnup and create an account if you do not already have one. You will be required to sign up to Spinnup’s standard terms and conditions, which will govern your use of the Spinnup service.

 

To enter the prize competition:

a) You must sign in to your Spinnup account and upload one new track (in the same way you would upload any other Spinnup track if you are an existing Spinnup user)

b) The Promoter will then review your track, which can take up to 3 days. Once the Promoter has reviewed your track and emailed you accepting your upload, you will then be able to submit the track to the prize competition using the “Apply Here” button on the top of your dashboard. You always own all rights in and to your sound recordings.

 

To enter the prize competition entrants must have a mobile phone or other wireless or electronic device that supports internet access. Normal internet access and data usage charges imposed by your carrier or online service will apply.

 

The Promoter accepts no responsibility for prize competition entries that are not successfully completed, lost, or delayed in transit due to any technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware, software or any other equipment failure.

 

There is a limit of one entry per person. Entries on behalf of another person will not be accepted and joint or multiple submissions are not allowed and will not be considered.

 

How you will be judged

 

The Promoter’s A&R team will judge all tracks submitted to the prize competition. A maximum of 15 tracks will be shortlisted based on the following criteria:

 

a) production quality of the track

b) musical and composition creativity

 

Shortlisted applicants will be emailed by the Promoter before 12:00 AM GMT on 20th September 2019. All shortlisted applicants must then:

–

a) submit a valid and working YouTube link of you performing live

b) confirm you will be available to travel to Wild Paths Festival in Norwich to perform in front of a live audience on 18th October 2019

c) submit a setlist of 4 original songs which you would like to perform (you will not be able to perform any covers so make sure your song is original)

–

3 winners will then be chosen from those shortlisted applicants that are eligible and have complied with the steps at clause 13 above.

 

The prize

This is a prize competition for 3 winners to each win 1 of the following packages:

 

  1. a performance slot at Wild Paths Festival (timing and duration to be at Promoter’s discretion)
  2. free distribution with Spinnup for one year
  3. a selection of free images and videography of you performing at Wild Paths
  4. a ticket to Wild Paths Festival (Norwich, 18th October to 20th October 2019)

 

If you are unable to attend the date of the Festival, sadly the Promoter will need to choose another winner.

 

All winners will be required to arrange their own transport and accommodation to and from the Festival. The Promoter will reimburse you for up to £25 travel expenses subject to receipt of valid invoices.

 

NO INSTRUMENTS WILL BE PROVIDED- ALL WINNERS WILL NEED TO PROVIDE THEIR OWN INSTRUMENTS. If you require any performers, band members, or backline you will need to provide and arrange this at your own cost.

 

The winners will be notified by Promoter via email before 23:59 GMT on 27th September 2019 and must provide a postal address to claim their prize. If the winner of the prize competition does not respond to the Promotor within 2 days of being notified by the Promoter, then the winner’s prize will be forfeited and the Promoter will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above. Please allow for 14 working days for delivery of the prize.

 

The decision of the Promoter regarding any aspect of the prize competition is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into about it.

 

There is no cash alternative for the prize and it cannot be exchanged or transferred.

 

The Promoter reserves the right to replace the prize with an alternative prize of equal or higher value if circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control makes it necessary to do so.

 

General

 

The winner hereby grants all necessary consents and waivers to enable Promoter to film or record your performance and exploit the same in any media without liability to you.

 

The Promoter must either publish or make available information that indicates that a valid award took place. To comply with this obligation the Promoter will send the surname and county of major prize winners to anyone who emails info@umusic.com within one month after the closing date stated in Clause 4.  If you object to any or all of your surname or county being published or made available, please contact the Promoter at info@umusic.com.  In such circumstances, the Promoter must still provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

 

Personal data supplied during the course of this prize competition will only be processed as set out in the privacy policy stated below:

By submitting a prize competition entry, you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions. The Promoter reserves the right to refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of these terms and conditions.

 

The Promoter reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the prize competition where it becomes necessary to do so.

 

We will not be held responsible for any costs incurred by you in entering the competition (whether or not such entry is successful) or in relation to you taking part in the Prize.

 

The Promoter will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the prize, provided that nothing in these terms shall exclude or limit the Promoter’s liability for death or personal injury resulting from the Promoter’s negligence or a deliberate act of the Promoter; for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation or to the extent that any liability cannot be excluded or limited by law.

 

These terms and conditions shall be governed by English law, and the parties submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
