Spinnup is proud to give you the chance to participate in Spinnup Bangers Challenge (“Competition”).

You can only submit one track and multiple submissions will not be considered – so make sure you only submit your best one to the Competition. Entrants who submit more than one track will be disqualified from the Competition. Entering a new track can take up to 7 days for that track to be “approved” by Spinnup’s systems- please allow enough time before the Entry Period deadline to upload and enter a new track.

Full competition details below. By submitting an entry to Spinnup Bangers Challenge, you are agreeing to be bound by these terms and conditions.

This competition runs from 12:00 AM SGT/MYT October 1st 2021 – 11:59 PM SGT/MYT October 29th 2020 (“Entry Period”) and you need to submit your one best track via our Spinnup dashboard. 



To be eligible to enter the competition, you must:

 (a)   be a resident of Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, or Singapore (“Eligible Country of Residence”);

(b)    be at least 18 years old or if you are residing in Indonesia then you must be at least 21 years old;

(c)    have a Spinnup account;

(d)    not be subject to any exclusive recording or music distribution agreement; and

(e)    be able to comply with all the terms and conditions for the Competition.

You must not be an employee, agent or a director (or immediate family member of the same) of Spinnup, Universal Music Group, or any of our associated companies or subsidiaries.


How to enter:

There is no entry fee to enter the Competition for artists with existing tracks that have been released through Spinnup and you just need to push the track that you wish to submit onto the Competition dashboard.

For new Spinnup users, you must create and register for a new Spinnup account. You will be required to sign up and agree to Spinnup’s standard terms and conditions, which will govern your use of the Spinnup service and this Competition.

You must select “Apply Here” on the ‘Spinnup Bangers Challenge shown on your dashboard. You will then be asked to choose one of your tracks to be considered.


You can:

1. select an existing track uploaded on your profile.

2. or upload one new track (in the same way you would upload any other Spinnup track if you are an existing Spinnup user). If you upload a new track, Spinnup will then review your track, which can take up to 7 days. Once Spinnup has reviewed your track and emailed you accepting your release, you will then be able to submit the track to the competition. Please give yourself enough time when uploading your tracks as they will need to be reviewed, accepted and submitted before the expiry of the Entry Period! 


You must select your approved track from 12:00 AM SGT/MYT on October 1st 2021 and before 11:59 PM SGT/MYT, on October 29th 2021 for your entry to be considered. 

You retain your rights in and to your sound recordings in accordance with Spinnup’s terms and conditions.

How will you be judged:

Our team at Spinnup and Astralwerks will judge all tracks submitted for the Competition. An A&R representative at Astralwerks will be selecting the winner. Our decision shall be final and binding on you.

Spinnup and Astralwerks will have full discretion to decide on the winning track and two runner up tracks which will be assessed based on the following criteria:

–          number of streams on any music platform;

–          production quality of the track;

–          musical and composition creativity.


What you win:

  1. Our judge will choose ONE winner who will be notified via email by Spinnup before 11:59 PM SGT/MYT on 12th November 2021 (“Winner”). 

The Winner will win:

(a) An exclusive feedback session with an A&R at Astralwerks through an online video conferencing platform;

(b) placement in Universal-controlled playlists (Asia-based playlists- track positioning and timing at Spinnup’s sole discretion) and Astralwerks playlists;

(c) official Spinnup and Astralwerks merchandise;

(referred to as the “Winner’s Prize”)


  1. TWO runner up participants will be notified via email by Spinnup before 11:59 PM GMT on 12th November 2021 (“Runner Up”); 

The Runner Up will each win:

(a) placement in Universal-controlled playlists (Asia-based playlists- track positioning and timing at Spinnup’s sole discretion) and Astralwerks playlists;

(b) official Spinnup and Astralwerks merchandise;

(referred to as “Runner Up Prize”)

(together the Runner Up Prize and the Winner’s Prize shall be referred to as the “Prize”).


The Prize is as stated and no other alternatives will be offered. Prizes are non-transferable. There is no cash alternative and Spinnup reserves the right to substitute the Prize or any element thereof with a prize of equal or greater value or to decline to award the Prize if there are no entries of the necessary standard in the reasonable opinion of the judges.


Winner Selection: 

The Winner and Runners Up will need to respond to Spinnup within forty-eight (48) confirming they can accept the Prize.  

If any winner fails to respond to the direct message and prize notification sent to them by email within forty-eight (48) hours of transmission or if prize notification email is returned as undeliverable; or if potential winner is otherwise found to be ineligible; or if the selected potential winner cannot accept or receive the Prize for any reason; or if the Prize is returned undeliverable; the potential winner will forfeit the Prize with no liability to Spinnup and an alternate winner will be selected from all non-winning eligible Entries. The alternate winner (or runner up) will be notified and be bound by the same conditions and timelines as stated in these terms and conditions. Spinnup reserves the right to modify the notification procedures in connection with the selection of an alternate winner, if any.

Prize will be awarded within twenty days after each Winner’s/Runner Up’s verification. Spinnup will cover any relevant delivery costs of the Prize provided that the delivery address is in one of the Eligible Countries of Residence.  


Data protection:

The Winner and Runner Up agree to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material in connection with the competition and sign our standard Image Release Form. Any personal data relating to the Winner, Runner Up or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with Spinnup’s Privacy Policy and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent. If you wish to update your personal data preferences, you may email support@spinnup.com. By submitting your entry, you hereby consent that we will contact you regarding matters related to the Competition using the personal data you provide.



Spinnup reserves the right to hold void, suspend, cancel, or amend the terms and conditions of the Competition where it becomes necessary to do so but shall provide you with notification. 

We accept no responsibility for lost entries or for any technical issues that prevent us from receiving your entry or playing the tracks you submitted.

We will not be held responsible for any costs incurred by you in entering the Competition (whether or not such entry is successful) or in relation to you taking part in the Prize.

Spinnup will not in any circumstances be responsible or liable to compensate the Winner or Runner Up or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death (to the extent permitted by law) which may occur as a result of taking up the Prize.

We shall not be liable for any damages or losses as a result of failure by Spinnup to deliver the Prize or any other prizes as a result of any circumstances outside of our direct and reasonable control including, but not limited to, any force majeure situations such as server failure (including but not limited to access delays or interruptions, data non-delivery or mis-delivery), any act(s) of God, epidemic, pandemic, changes in laws or regulations, war or terrorism, breaches of security or unauthorised use of personal data arising from hacking and/or failure or lack of reception of telephone or mobile telephone networks.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall exclude or limit our liability:

(a)               for death or personal injury resulting from our gross negligence or a deliberate act or omission of us or any of our officers, employees or agents;

(b)               for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or

(c)                to the extent that liability cannot by law be excluded or limited.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with Singapore Law. 

Any dispute arising out of or in connection with this agreement must be submitted for mediation at the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC) in accordance with SMC’s Mediation Procedure in force for the time being. Either/any party may submit a request to mediate to SMC upon which the other party will be bound to participate in the mediation within 45 days thereof. Every party to the mediation must have the authority to negotiate and settle the dispute. Unless otherwise agreed by the parties, the Mediator(s) will be appointed by SMC. The mediation will take place in Singapore in the English language and the parties agree to be bound by any settlement agreement reached.
