Introducing: Tori Cross

Spinnup happily celebrates the incredible Tori Cross and her breathtakingly beautiful new track ‘Woman‘, written as an ode to everything female in honour of International Women’s Day (March 8, 2020).

Tori Cross is a soul/pop singer and songwriter hailing from Birmingham, UK, developing her craft in Liverpool with the prestigious LIMF Academy. Taking inspiration from the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone and Lianne La Havas for her own work, Tori is also working as a songwriter and producer with up and coming artists, helping to develop their style and inspire a new generation of artists.

The ethereal composition has impressed us and so many more, going on to gain recognition from BBC Introducing Merseyside. Radio Dj, Dave Monks has played the track both on his show on BBC Merseyside and on BBC Radio six. ‘Woman’ speaks poignantly about the strength of womanhood which, also encompasses vulnerability and allowing the nurturing of the real human being within. “Woman is a song inspired by all of the strong females in my life” Tori noted, “especially my mother who brought me up without the help of my father”.

The gospel influenced track oozes deep soul and a modern sophistication and we can’t get enough. Be sure to check out Woman below and follow Tori on her Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud and Instagram.
